2013 Atrial Fibrillation Conference: Afib Medications & Stroke Prevention: Eric Prystowsky, MD

Dr. Eric Prystowsky discusses treatments for atrial fibrillation, including rate control and rhythm control, as well as use of anticoagulants to prevent afib-related strokes.

At the conclusion of his presentation, StopAfib.org founder Mellanie True Hills bestowed upon Dr. Prystowsky the first ever “Advocate for Patients” Award for his work in bringing afib patients to the table where decisions are made about our care and his ongoing quest to “Preserve the Brain” through educating doctors and patients.

INDIANAPOLIS — An IUPUI professor is one of two Indiana University faculty members named to a list of the 25 most influential people in legal education by National Jurist magazine.

Randall T. Shepard, distinguished visiting professor in the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and visiting professor at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law, also part of the IUPUI campus, is No. 21 on the annual list.

Dr. Vic graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. He graduated in the top 5% of his class and received several major awards for companion animal care. After completing his internship at the renowned Oradell Animal Hospital in NJ, he practiced for 2 years in Stamford Connecticut, and then returned to his home town area to practice at The Mahopac Animal Hospital, where he has been practicing since 1998. He has been described by his clients as having a wonderful Dr’s “Bed-side Manner” and “a true blessing to his patients”. Dr Vic regularly volunteers at the Putnam County Humane Society Rabies Clinic. In his spare time, he loves spending family time with his wife Denise, his 2 young daughters Olivia and Sophia, and pets “Ned,” “Arnold” and “Pokito”.
